The House of Oud The Time is a soft citrus-tea fragrance that opens a little Imagination-like, turns creamy and almost white-chocolate smooth in the middle, then dries down into a delicate feminine-leaning musky tea scent that feels more like a beautiful gift pick than a personal daily reach for me.
02How it wears
Performance is the main thing I would not oversell. Total scent longevity for me is in that light-to-moderate range, roughly 4 to 6 hours depending on sprays and weather. Projection longevity is closer to the first 1 to 2 hours, and sillage longevity feels like about 1 to 2 hours before it becomes more of a soft personal scent. I would wear this in spring, summer, clean casual outfits, daytime errands, brunch, office settings, travel days, or anytime I want to smell calm and expensive without pushing fragrance across the room. Gym-safe? Yes, but only lightly sprayed, because this is gentle enough for a clean workout setting as long as I do not overspray. In the collection, this sits near the Imagination and Wulong Cha type of lane, but it is softer, more powdery, and more feminine than both in the way it wears on me. Value is the tricky part. I bought it from Jomashop, so that helps, because at full retail I would have a much harder time justifying a fragrance this light. The scent quality is there, the bottle presentation is there, and the tea profile is beautiful, but the performance is not the reason to buy this. This is one I would recommend for someone who specifically loves delicate tea fragrances, soft citrus, powdery clean scents, and airy feminine-leaning unisex fragrances. After wearing it again, I still think it smells really good, but for me personally it reads more like a really nice gift scent for my mom or my girlfriend than something I would reach for all the time myself. If someone wants beast mode, compliments from across the room, or a heavy vanilla fragrance, this is not that. But if they want something elegant, calming, and a little different from the usual freshie rotation, The Time has a lane.
